SUPERVISOR:
As a Supervisor, you will be crucial in overseeing and managing our abatement projects, ensuring they are executed seamlessly and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with field workers, operations managers, surveyors, estimators, and clients to ensure projects are completed within established timelines.
- Safety Leadership: Conduct regular field safety meetings to emphasize the importance of safety protocols and procedures among crew members.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Bilingual skills are a plus, allowing you to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Documentation Management: Maintain organized project files, including all correspondence, receipts/invoices, and critical documents related to each project.
- Project Deadline Adherence: Ensure all projects meet their deadlines, coordinating tasks efficiently to meet client expectations.
- Safety Gear Compliance: Be proficient in wearing a respirator and personal protective equipment to ensure safety during hazardous waste removal processes.
- Maintenance Oversight: Oversee routine and efficient maintenance tasks to keep equipment and tools in optimal working condition.
- Pre-employment Requirements: Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, e-verification process.
- Travel: Be willing and able to travel to various construction site locations as project demands dictate.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Overtime Availability: Be available for overtime work when necessary to meet project requirements.
- Training and Certification: Participate in required industry training, update certifications, and maintain fitness levels as mandated for the environmental field.
Job Qualifications:
- Certifications: Hold a current Asbestos Supervisor certification in North Carolina or South Carolina.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the Asbestos Abatement field.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Possess knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and local hazardous materials policies and regulations.
- Travel: Must be capable of traveling to various construction site locations.
- Driver's License: Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Availability: Be flexible and available for overtime as needed to support project demands.
ESTIMATOR:
Job Responsibilities:
- Generate cost estimates for demolition and asbestos abatement projects.
- Utilize On Screen Takeoff (OST) software for project bidding.
- Identify project risks and strategize mitigations.
- Craft bid packages for client consideration.
- Conduct site evaluations and meetings to determine project parameters.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers for project fulfillment.
- Track project trajectory, verifying cost estimate adherence.
- Suggest fiscal efficiencies within project scopes.
- Keep systematic records of all project-related documents.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation for demolition and asbestos abatement.
- Proficient with OST and familiar with standard bidding and estimating practices related to abatement and demolition.
- Skilled in blueprint and plan analysis.
- Strong organizational and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with robust problem-solving capabilities.
- A proactive, team-oriented individual with a can-do attitude.
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT WORKER
The Asbestos Abatement Worker reports directly to the Field Supervisor and is responsible for various activities in support of abatement operations on various project sites. The abatement worker performs manual labor to aid in the abatement of materials containing asbestos, lead and/or mold that are removed during project demolition or renovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Removal of construction materials containing asbestos, lead and/or mold from buildings, building components, structures and facilities utilizing removal methods in compliance with OSHA, EPA and local air quality management district regulations.
- Packaging of asbestos containing wastes in preparation for disposal as hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste.
- Preparation of work area controls.
- Clean up work site and secure/decontaminate self, areas, tools, and personal clothing using a HEPA vacuum and/or wash area.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards.
- Use hand tools such as burke bars, hammers, crow bars.
- Use powered tools and equipment such as grinders, saws, floor buffers.
- Wets asbestos containing material to minimize airborne particles.
- Applies encapsulant to work area.
- Follow established safety rules and regulatory requirements(e.g. IIPP, OSHA , AQMD).
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Follow company policies. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Skills, Abilities and Experience
- Experience in a dynamic construction site environment including standard construction techniques, use of hand and power tools and use of personal protective equipment.
- Experience in Environmental/Abatement industry preferred.

The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, (operate equipment) handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and perform a variety of body motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling and bending at the waist to reach items and work areas and reach above shoulder height to perform duties.
The employee must be able to lift and/or push and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Wearing a respirator (up to full face PAPR) for entire work shift (except for rest and meal breaks).
Work is performed in a variety of locations and work environments. Typical work environments include:
- Outdoors at ambient temperatures and conditions for an entire shift.
- Inside vacated buildings.
- Within confined spaces.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud depending on equipment being operated in the vicinity.
- Elevated work areas such as scaffolding, rooftops, aerial work platforms and devices.
Work involves handling and potential exposures to hazardous materials such as:
- Asbestos
- Lead
- Mold
- Respirable crystalline silica
- Products used in abatement activities such as encapsulant and mastic remover.
